It's A Boy!

Well, we went to the doctor this morning and found out that we are having a boy! Greg thought for sure it was a girl, but was wrong. I am excited to have another boy and now Luke will have someone to play with. Luke will turn 3 a month before the baby is due. Now we just need to decide on a name. Greg chose the first time, so I guess now it's my turn (yeah right, he doesn't like any name I come up with). If you have any great boy names, please share. Just keep in mind that we might use it!!

Potty Training Update

Well, we finally started potty training this week. It has been an up and down roller coaster, but I think we are having success.
Tuesday - the first day. I had a friend tell me that whenever her boy had an accident, she put him in a cold bath. I thought this may work for Luke. So we started with that. Bad idea! I put him in underwear and skipped the pull-ups. After 4 accidents within an hour, I thought this can't be working. We both spent the whole morning crying together and I was ready to give up. After his nap, dad came home and things went amazingly better. Of course, it always happens that way, as soon as Greg gets home. He went pee and poop in the potty for the first time.
Wednesday - After the horrible morning the day before, I decided to use the pull-ups. This worked a lot better. I made him a chart that he could put a sticker on every time he peed or pooped. He loved the stickers. After so many stickers, he can pick a prize. We still had some accidents, but not too bad.
Thursday - Things were going better and better every day. Today I decided to try a test. He was doing great at home, but I wanted to see how he would do outside the house. We went on a walk to my sister's house, 5 minutes away. He tried going potty when we got there, but nothing. He and his cousin went downstairs to play for a few minutes. I went to check on him, and of course he peed and pooped. Luckily he was wearing his pull-ups. So we went home. He did better the rest of the day, but still a couple of accidents while helping his dad outside.
Friday - We went to the zoo with my family and I was worried how this would affect our progress. The days before, I had been giving him a lot of juice to help him with peeing. I thought that would not be a good idea for the zoo trip. So he just drank milk and some water. He did great and even went pee at the zoo in the potty. We made it through the whole day without any accidents. I was shocked.
Saturday - Luke is doing amazingly well. I thought it would take a lot longer to get the hang of it. I still don't trust him to wear underwear all day, but he does better every day. Today he peed and pooped in the potty all by himself. I was vacuuming and I didn't see where Luke went. He came back and said, "Mommy, I peed all by myself!!" He was so proud. I went to check to see if it was true or if he just made a mess on the floor. He made it to the potty and pulled his pants down all by himself. Of course, he didn't control it very well and there was pee running down the side of the toilet and some hit his pants. But, he did it. All by himself. I hope things will continue to get better. Hopefully, by the time I go back to school in two weeks, he will be okay to be on his own. Thanks for all the great advice!!

Potty Training?!

So, I am going off track this week, and my goal is to get Luke potty trained. We have been trying, not hard, for a few weeks and haven't had any progress. Anyone who has potty trained boys, I need help! I need some ideas on how to potty train! Luke is smart enough and he knows when he is going in his diaper, but doesn't want to sit on the toilet. We even bought him a Scooby-doo toilet seat thinking that would help. He loves to sit on it and pretend, but nothing happens. So, anyone who has any suggestions please share!! I for sure would like him trained by the time the baby comes. Thanks for the help!!!!!

Great News!

Well, after a long time of trying, we are finally pregnant! We are so excited and couldn't be more thrilled. We are due April 2nd and can't wait. Luke is excited, but really has no idea what is going on. I am 12 weeks along and am definitely feeling pregnant. I know I am showing sooner than with Luke, but it could just be all in my head. It has been a hard and frustrating time, but I am feeling very blessed. We weren't even trying when we got pregnant with Luke, so having difficulty this time was very unexpected. But, something must have worked because we're pregnant!
I have finally downloaded more pictures from my camera. Most of these are of Luke at the fair. He loved it so much we had to go back. He thought the horses were his and threw a fit when he had to get off. He loved the petting zoo and tried to pick up all the animals. We also went to the rodeo and he had a blast!

Yes, we're still here!

So I am not very good at staying up-to-date on the blog, but we are still here! I just started back to school on Aug. 11th, and have not had much time to do anything. Luckily, I only teach part-time, but am still very busy. So, I will be posting some more recent pictures soon, when I get a minute!!

Breaking Dawn!

Okay, for all you Stephenie Meyer fans out there, you need to read Breaking Dawn! If you haven't heard of it, then ask somebody. I am a big fan and Greg makes fun of me on a daily basis. My wonderful husband waited in line Friday at midnight with tons of 14 year old girls waiting for this book. Did I mention how wonderful he is?! So I have been reading non-stop (when I can) since Saturday and finally finished the book today. Wow! I am trying to bring myself back to reality and out of the world of vampires and werewolves. Anyone who has read the book, let me know what you think. I am going back to work/school next week and needed to finish the book before then so I can actually work! Anyway, happy reading!!!
